He began as a trouble maker and now he is saving the world. Not a bad upgrade in status. Together with his loyal loudmouth friend Daxter, he ignored the master of Green Eco, Samos the Sage, and went to Misty Island. When they arrived, Jak and Daxter found two people adressing an evil army of Lurkers. As Jak and Daxter prepared to leave, a Lurker attacked them. Jak defeated the Lurker by throwing a barrel of Dark Eco at it, but in the process he knocked Daxter into a pit of the substance. Daxter came out unharmed and just as loud as ever, but he was turned into a ottsel (a hybrid of an otter and a weasel). Jak and Daxter go on a quest to turn Daxter back but find themselves saving the world from Dark Eco. The duo bring back and artifact they find and Keira, Jaks' love interest, finds out that it's a gate. She opens the gate and a monster seperates the gang. Jak ends up being imprisoned in a war torn city known as Haven City. After two years of being experimented on with dark eco by the leader of Haven, Baron Praxis, Jak escapes with the help of Daxter. Together they join the Underground rebellion and discover more about Dark Eco and Jak's past. Jak manages to end the fighting in Haven City and he, Daxter, Keira and Samos decide to make the city their new home. Soon though, Jak is banished to the Wasteland for "crimes" against Haven City. War returns to Haven City and Jak is helpless to stop it. Jak and Daxter are rescued in the Wasteland by desert dwellers who live in Spargus City. Jak manages to return to Haven City and finds out that new forces plan to destroy the city. Jak defends the city and the world from the enemies who sought to destroy it and he discovers the truth about himself.

Jak proves himself the master of guns and goatees throughout his adventures. He does nearly everything from scaling mountains to find eco, to driving combat vehicles in death races, to racing some monks in a "friendly" race. With his good friend Daxter, he is always in the right place at the right time to save the rest of humanity from evil.
