-Visuals- 8.0/10
I really should simply copy and paste my review from Hot Shots Golf 3 because pretty much it's the same...except for a few noticeable improvements. For one thing the characters are a tad sharper and rendered just a bit better, better movements, better actions and simply better looking. The other improvement is the backgrounds. The trees look (and move much better in the wind), the water looks and moves better and the animals you'll see on the course are also a good addition. Still, it's not great but then again it wasn't designed to be a graphical masterpiece, instead it's what it is, over the top cartoon golf.
-Sound- 7.0/10
No difference here, typical background music and the caddies still get on my nerves until I -play for a bit and start to ignore them.
-Gameplay- 8.4/10
Several improvements here as well. Twelve course, ten caddies and twenty-four golfers (which can be unlocked in vs. mode, which in and of itself provides great fun) add some variety. You also actually have a wider variety of balls and club types to choose from. There is a new impact zone which allows for awesomely long straight precise shots, but be forewarned it's tough to master the exact timing. There's a new cross section tool which shows you the contour of the entire hole and even some guides as to which direction the hole slopes and how the wind will effect the shot, some great improvements to what was already a solid core.
-Story- N/A
It's golf, play better and better and get new characters (Ratchet and Clank actually make an appearance) and new course
-Overall- 8.5/10
Hours and hours to master all the courses and unlock all the players, it's simply a really fun and challenging game of golf.
