The players overall look pretty good, they actually do resemble their real life counterparts and are rendered to move smoothly, for the most part. The stadiums are also well done but, and this is a big but, once the crowd is added there are certainly many issues which pop up. the crowd itself is mediocre and their responses can sometimes be jerky and erratic, the field looks good and the uniforms look well as well, so overall, a good job, and to be honest considering the scope of producing a stadium w/at least 10 players and sell-out crowd attempting to react to plays it's probably as good as the PS2 could possibly do.
-Sound- 8.3/10
Sounds like a ball game, lol. Of course the announcers will at times mis-speak and certainly they will get repetitious but over all a job pretty well done.
-Gameplay- 9/10
If you like baseball then you will love this game. The mechanics are easy to play, tough to master and provide hours of entertainment. Pitching requires pin point control, base running is simple to do while still requiring knowledge of the game and what is going on around you and you can even play Road to the Show (which does have some slight issues with goals achieved and failed, can be really hard at times) where you work your way up through the minors (and you had better A: be patient and B: NOT miss your goals!) A very, very well designed game with only a few flaws (throwing being the big one!) that detract.

It's the American pastime!
-Overall- 8.7/10
By far the best game for the PS2, and a must have for any baseball fan, playing a whole season will take you weeks, and the road to the show even longer
