-Visuals- 9.5/10
This anime can only be described by one word visually, gorgeous. Whether it is the city backgrounds or the alien technology or the other worldly viewpoints the show is simply drop dead gorgeous. I was simply mesmerized from beginning to end. Seriously I could continue to pile on the superlatives but that is all it would be, piling on. The bottom line is simply watch it.

-Characters- 9.5/10
Well, there are only two, Mikako Nagamine and Noboru Terao, who are a young couple about to enter high school. And once again I am going to be short, watch the show and even though it's less than 30 minutes long I finished this show caring more about these two than some shows which are 30 episodes.

-Story- 9.5/10
Wow....talk about emotional. As I mentioned before the show is about two teenagers who have a blossoming love affair in a future where aliens have attacked our base on Mars. using captured technology we send a fleet to counter attack the aliens. Mikako is chosen as one of the Select Members who pilot mechs in the fleet. The story is NOT however, about war. Instead it is about the long distance communication and time displacement which occurs as she travels to Mars, then Jupiter and Pluto and eventually to the Sirius system 8.6 light years away. It eventually gets to the point where her messages take months, a year and then years to reach Noboru. The story tugs as your heart as she simply wants to be an average teenage girl and he simply wants to grow up in a normal relationship. Honestly I'm not sure I can express the emotions this show portrays using mere words. Between the awesome voice acting and the incredible music (I would be amiss if I didn't say how awesome the music is in this show) this show, as I stated earlier is one of the more emotional anime shows I have ever seen period.
-Overall- 9.5/10
I cannot say much more than I have, yes it's that good, yes you need to watch it, and yes, I wish there was more...although as I type that I cannot help but wonder if it's actually not the perfect length.
