Note: For smaller titles that don't fit the traditional review format used here, I am going to review them in quick reviews hitting the basic highlights.Really Big Sky is a twin stick side scrolling shooter featuring flashy visuals and and pumping techno music. The stages are endless and randomly generated, ensuring no two game sessions are the same. There are multiple game modes, though I have not even come close to unlocking them all. The main game mode though is a one life score attack. If you have an Xbox 360 controller, feel free to hook it up to use, but those of us with plug and play USB controllers are out of luck as their is no support for them. If you lack a 360 controller, and have to use a mouse and keyboard, rest assured that the game still controls fairly well. The visuals are neon colored and are impressive to say the least, matching the techno soundtrack perfectly. Pros- Impressive visuals
- Fist pumping music with solid sound fx
- Randomized stage design makes for unique gameplays.
- Humorous narration
Cons- Difficult learning curve
- Occasional control issues with mouse and keyboard
- Trial and error boss battles suck with only one life
- Too much can appear on screen at once, making gameplay tough
Overall: 8.5/10 Really Big Sky is a fun game to simply pick up and play. There is no story, but the games HD graphics and addicting gameplay certainly make this a game worth picking up for the right price.
