-Visuals- 9/10 The planes look great and the ground is rendered beautifully. The only draw back is the ground is very flat when you get close to it, but your in a jet, so its bad to get too close, as I learned the hard way... The cut scenes are done very well and prove that the PS2 can put out some nice graphics. -Sound- 8/10 It gets old when you hear the same 4 Yuke or Osean fighter pilots all the time but the voice actors aren't that bad. When you break the sound barrier you get a sonic boom which is neat. -Gameplay- 9/10 The hallmark of a good game is good controls and Ace Combat 5 has good controls. Very easy to use and learn. The AI also makes the game somewhat challenging by not trying to die in massive numbers, but they still do. -Story- 7/10 The story isn't bad, but it could be better. The whole conspiracy idea seems to stick with the series. You also don't connect with the characters all that much as they fade in and out of the story. -Overall- 8/10 A fun game that will take about 1 hours of your time. Unlockable planes add a bit of replay incentive. A good jet fighter sim.
