-Visuals- 8.3/10
I know I say it a lot, but once again it is a case of the good and the OK. The cut scenes and cgi are at times great, and even the normal fight scenes can at times be wonderful, however, I feel the somewhat stagnant look of the backgrounds take away from what could have been a much higher score. The various enemies/allies and the fights are rendered nicely but it still is not as good as it could have been, albeit still much better than many from the same time period.
-Sound- 9.8/10
They all should sound this good, seriously, this is one of the best.
-Gameplay- 8.2/10
As I've said many times...it's a case of the good and bad. The good is that the fighting system is simple enough to not cause you to have to memorize countless combination's of button pushing to execute attacks and blocks. The bad is the camera angles and the usage of the controls. You will drive yourself crazy trying to orientate the camera and to make matters worse your movements are controlled by the D-Pad and they will also make you want to simply stop the playing the game. Once you do finally get used to the controls it is a tad better but still, overall, it would have been so much better to have more control of your movement. As it is it's jerky and extremely hard to master.
-Story- 8.8/10
The story is set in 1560 Japan and tells the story (loosely) of the rival sections attempting to rule Japan. Where is strays away from fact is that essentially this is a horror/survival game with a twist. The twist is instead of simply trying to escape you are an active participant in combat, many combats, lol. This adds a whole new dimension to the genre and will provide hours of great gameplay mixed with semi-difficult, yet solvable, puzzles.l
-Overall- 8.2/10
The camera angles and difficulty in moving your character around detract from what would have been a much higher score, still, all in all it's a fun 10 hours or so (at most) of excitement.
