-Visuals- 9.8/10 Very good visuals, in fact one of the best for the PS2. All of the graphics are amazing. The ground has texture unlike most PS2 games and all the monsters look great. -Sound- 9.2/10 Zombies only make so many sounds I guess but most of the voice acting is good. Salazar turns in a great performance. He just makes you hate him even before he tries to kill you. The music makes this game suspenseful, and alerts you when zombies are around. The merchant can be very annoying, stranger. -Gameplay- 7.5/10 The over the shoulder camera angle is kind of annoying, and I always have the feeling that Leon (our main character) could be running faster. Ammo runs out a little quickly, especially those shotgun shells. The upgradeable weapons does remedy this some what. In terms of unlockable, it sticks to costumes and weapons. The Separate Ways mini game is a very nice addition for the special edition. -Story- 9.7/10 Leon Kennedy is sent by the US government to Spain to look for the President's daughter. He soon finds out that a lot more than a terrorist kidnapping is going on. The story keeps you hooked and the Separate Ways mini game adds more to the story. -Overall- 9/10 A very well done game. It can get a little frustrating at times but it usually is self explanatory when it comes to some of the puzzles. This is a good game that will provide a lot of re-playability, just to unlock the best weapons.

A second opinion and only that, not a full review, SB wrote that already -Visuals- 9.4/10 I agree, one of the best for the PS2, the "zombies" are rendered wonderfully! The stark look of the village is outstanding and the backgrounds also add wonderfully to the over all look of the game. -Sound- 9.3/10 A great soundtrack adds to the ambiance and I even love the "zombies" sound, a great job! -Gameplay- 8.5/10 I'm going to go a little higher, even though I agree with the issues SB brought up...the camera angle is, at best, horrific at times, Leon is waaaay toooooo slow and it's nearly impossible to actually collect enough ammo. One other issue I found is the fact that your health does NOT regenerate after "boss battles". It's seriously annoying to finish a huge battle, start the next level and be basically 3/4 dead to start the levels, it doesn't need to be easy, but seriously it does detract from the game. -Story- 9/10 No issues here, just didn't hook me quite as much, so a tad lower. -Overall- 9.2/10 The issues with health and the camera angles take away from what could have been great, hey SB, you ranked it too low over all, lol!!
