-Visuals- 9.1/10
The character models are stunning, both in the detail and the animation is also superb and while I never thought I was watching an actual movie, and I'm not sure Ninja Theory wanted that kind of detail, after all, this is a fantasy game, I did find myself immersed in the characters emotions, very, very well produced. The backgrounds are also very well done, the landscaped certainly look real and the attention to detail is immaculate (most of the time). I was very impressed with most of the battle scenes, no variation in over all quality at all and the larger melee battles are to say the least simply awesome.
-Sound- 9/10
Combine very good graphics with very good voice acting and you have characters you will really care for, although I admit, Kat could get a tad annoying after awhile, a very short while to some I am sure. The sound of the battles is very good as well, and at times even better
-Gameplay- 7.8/10
Press buttons...move around, press buttons, move around...press even more buttons, move around...you get the picture. The battles are very, very repetitive and it really does become the same old same old very quickly. I, for one, did enjoy the opportunity to use Kat in some scenarios, you do not get to pick and choose though, the game decides when and where you will use her, although even those battles got tiring after a few times, although kudos to using the joystick to guide her munition toward it's intended target. Ninja Theory just missed here, not enough combo action and anytime my fingers and/or hand hurt after a large battle there is a problem in my opinion.
-Story- 8/10
You play as Nariko (and sometimes Kat, her sister) whose tribe guards the "Heavenly Sword", basically an evil ruler named King Bohan attempts to destroy your tribe and capture the sword. The story progresses with you resisted his armies attacks and attempting to protect your tribe and the sword. I will not say anything about the ending except to say I found it to be awesome!
-Overall- 8/10
It just misses in so many ways...the game was a tad short for my taste, the battles way to repetitive, the enemies pretty much the same enemies over and over and the mechanics slightly flawed. Still, having said that I found it to be enjoyable and I hope Ninja Theory changes it's mind and picks up the story again, if the flaws were fixed the game would easily go from being enjoyable to be awesome!
