-Visuals- 9.5/10
Every GT version has simply gotten better and better and better, and this is certainly no exception. The visuals are stunning, at times I actually felt I was watching a real race and not a game. The in car camera view is simply the best in any racing game. Of course it's not perfect, there are the occasional flickers and obvious texture faults but over all the sheer magnitude is simply breath taking!! Oh, the cars look pretty good too, lol.
-Sound- 9.4/10
If the car sounds were any more realistic it would be a real race!
-Gameplay- 9.4/10
The GT franchise strength has always been two fold. The way the tracks and scenery look has improved with every version and the distinct differences in the cars themselves has always been remarkable as well. Here, somehow they one upped themselves! The feel driving the various cars is simply second to none. Not only are the differences readily apparent in the handling, horsepower and "drive ability' but each is also so distinct in looks (they obviously took a lot of time making sure each model looked pretty much exactly as it does in real life) but the cars are very customizable to say the least, you can actually save three different set-ups for your cars. Now, this version is obviously only a sampler of what is to come so the tracks and cars are limited, having said that it will take you many, many, many races to collect enough funds to buy all of the cars. GT5 also did away with the license requirements, instead you start in Class C, finish those and graduate to Class B races and then to Class A, personally I hope they keep this aspect in the full version of the game, the license trials were at best tedious to me. Whether you are playing with a driving wheel or using your trusty game pad I assure you this is the best driving game out there.
-Story- NA
Racing, pure and simple
-Overall- 9/10
Now I'm grading this based on the fact that it is only a preview of what's to come, and although what is previewed is incredible it's still only a small part of the full release, so in all good conscience I simply can't rate it as high as I otherwise would have. I've been awaiting the full release for quite some time and I feel confident I'll spend untold hours on this one.
